Shortage of Mircophones makes eardrums explode at pirmary film festival.

Yesterday we had to go to a Toki Pounamu Film festival. That took place at the greymouth regent theare. Schools from all over the west coast made movies and submitted them to the film festival held by Madlin and Dan Hansin. My personal favorite was Paroas where a bank robbing was in action there was great filming and slo-mo action packed scenes. this is why I like this film. Most of the films where about the west coast or the history of the west coast which doesnt intrest me personaly.

The Door

          This week we are writing a scary story this is mine    The door?

Thomas was a millionaire but he didn't expect this in his backyard.

 Thomas invented the light bulb he got rich he had millions of dollars. One day he was buying a new house (mansion) as the real estate agent was showing him the house, he felt a cold chill as he  saw a door in the yard. He asked what it was the realtor said it was an old door from the library that got knocked down. The next day he goes to feed the dog and the door had moved to the middle of the paddock, It was facing the other direction he left it alone and went back inside but he felt a bit weird he said to himself, “What is wrong with this door”. The next day the door moves again he wants to walk in but he gets a weird feeling but he fights the urge and walks over to the door, which is now behind the garage his cold shaking hand was now slowly creeping toward the door but he hesitates and hears a big scream from the door he knows he has to go inside?

Futsal

This year I started playing Futsal every Monday and Thursday. If you dont know what it is, it's indoor football. The court/field is very small so you have to play fast and pass a lot, if you dont pass you won't score. The goals are quite small as well so you have to place the ball not hit it hard. The teams are 5 on 5 so not many people on the court but when you play its hard to get past people.  You don't have to wear shin pads but you can if you want. I play futsal in the civic centre and it's lots of fun.   

Maths workbook.

This week for maths we have to do a workbook but I wanted to get it done first so I finished it today

Writing

For a couple of week we are writing instructions her is mine.

How to make a Banana Feijoa and Plum Smoothie 

Ingredients/Equipment

1. A Banana
2. A Feijoa
3. A Plum
4. Milk
5. A Drizzle of Honey
6. Ice
7. A Knife
8.  A Blender
9. A Spoon

Instructions

1. Peel the Banana and break it into ½ or ⅓ so it fits into the blender then put it in.
2. Cut the Feijoa with the knife and use the spoon to scoop out the insides. 
3. Core out the Plum by cutting it in half with the knife and core out the middle with the spoon.
4. Put the Feijoa and the plum in the blender
5. Pour a drizzle of honey in the blender and pour in  the milk to until Half the blender is full
6. Pour into a cup Drink and Enjoy.

Book review

Last week I started reading this book called How to rob a bank and I am going to do a book review on it.

What is it about:
This is about a boy called Dylan
who like a girl called Beth. Dylan
goes to Beth's house to do homework
and it all goes wrong. The smoke crawled
down the stairs they moved as fast as they
could...  Basically Dylan robs a bank
(a post office really)

If i had to rate it out of ten I would give it a 8/10. 

West coast hockey

This year I have been selected in the U'13 West Coast hockey team we will have 3 tournaments, one in Blenheim, one in Christchurch and one in Oamaru. This weekend I am going to the tournament in Blenheim. We have 2 or 3 games against Marlboroough, Nelson and Christchurch. The team from Buller pulled out at the last minute so were not going on Friday now we are going on Saturday.    

The NBA draft

Today is the NBA draft where college players can go to the NBA This is how it works.

First a couple weeks ago the NBA draft lottery was done which puts the teams in order from 1-30 in the first 2 rounds there are only picks. In the last round there is 60 picks.

Here are the first 5 picks New Orleans Pelicans, Memphis Grizzlies, New York Knicks, LA Lakers Then the Cleveland Cavaliers. I think The New Orleans Pelicans will pick Zion Williamson who is the best college player since Lebron James.       

Hanmer blog

 in week three we went to hanmer when we got back we had to make a recount of what happened this is mine

Camp

This week we went to Hanmer for camp, we did tree climbing, Mountain biking, walked (Ran) up Conical hill, went to the hot pools every night and went to the cemetery and the statue walk round the forest. It was really fun, my favourite part  was the tree climbing and the hot pool that was fun.
At the hot pools we all went down the super bowl at the same time. Here is some photos of Hanmer.

My myth

This term for writing we are focusing on writing myths and legends  my myth is on the snow and how it is formed here it is.

Hockey

On the last Tuesday of term one we played in a hockey tournament and we won in a thrilling final against Karoro. the score was 3-0 to us Grey Main, the scorers were Me (Callum), Honor and Kaleb. I hope that next year our school could win too.

Maths week one

This week for maths we are working on area, perimeter and volume. We had a work book for our maths groups, it was quite hard but I have finished it. We also looked at the circumference of a circle and area of a triangle.     

Avengers end game

(SPOILER ALERT) (SPOILER ALERT)  


The Avengers was really cool, I watched it on Saturday.
My favourite part was the part when Black Widow dies but Hawkeye and Black Widow fight to die. Thanos dies twice, Thor kills him, and they all kill him.

There was a corny bit when all the girl superheros gang together
and say "We got her back" behind Captain Marvel.

This is the end of the Avengers series and Thors really fat.

WELCOME BACK TO TERM TWO!!!

Welcome back to my blog. 

This term we have lots on, we have our camp where we go to Hamner for three days. We do the Hot Pools , Tree climbing, Bike riding and orienteering.

We also have rugby union, rugby league, a football tournament. I'm looking forward to my holiday to France and England for a month, it's gonna be really fun.

Maths DLO

This week for maths.

We did percentages to fractions and the other way round. I will show you how to make percentages to fractions. Here is my DLO

Brunner mine site

This Monday we went to a place called Brunner Mine. It is an old site that had a big explosion that killed 65 men. Most were buried at the mass grave in the Stillwater Cemetery but some were burred at the Greymouth Cemetery because they are Catholic. Other people were buried at their family plots.


We had a really good time at Brunner thanks to the ladies from Shantytown we got to dress up and do role plays. We also did mimes from the book (the mines afire). We went for a walk around the Brunner site, looked at the site of the explosions and what used to be there. There was old coke ovens that had been turned into sheds, new beehive coke oven also we saw where the airway and where the air came in. 

 

Week 8

This Friday we had a colour day for all the Muslim community in Christchurch we raised $80.10  and we also feel very sorry about what happened.  

Week 8

This weekend I am going to Waimea to play a squash tournament and I am in a hard draw but I will try my best to win. I am a J1 but I am seeded fourth. last time there were like 250 people. 

Week 7

This week we did a poem on a colour I chose red and here is my poem

Red is blood dripping off your knee onto the ground.

Red is the inviting smell of red velvet cake wafting gently around my nose.

Red is strawberries freshly picked from a crop.

Red is the cherry that bursts with a sweet flavour.

This week we are also training for league, last year our school was unbeaten in Christchurch. We also had a tournament at Wingham Park and we won so we are hoping to win again this year.

Music

This week we did this we had to find our favourite song and explain why we liked it.

Week 6

This week we are starting to read our book the mine afire. about the tragedy of the Brunner mine, here his my slide on the book.

We also did Tech this week, I made a phone holder. First I had to bend all the sides in the vice so that the phone stays in the case. Then I had to drill a hole in the back and the in the holder, put it on my site and here is my phone holder.

Music

This week we did music we are learning the name of the notes. Like the semibreve the quaver the minim and the crochet. We made compositions with them here are mine.

Cricket

This week we were going to go to a cricket tournament but it was raining so it got called off till Monday so we've been training every day and working out our orders. most of us have improved  a lot and some of us are the same but I think we've got a shot at winning
